IELTS Reading- Types Of Questions

IELTS Reading -QT
Either its IELTS General or IELTS Academic, the types of questions are the same. It is mandatory to have detailed knowledge about the types of questions to make strategies. There is a total of 16 types of questions. Since no one can predict which pattern is followed by the paper setter or what types are going to be the part of the next test, so we'll discuss them all.

1 Short Answer Types Question Read the questions and answer them in minimum one to a maximum of three words, and/ or a number.  3-5
2 Multiple Choice (Single Answer) .A question with four options is given, the candidate has to choose the right option. 4-5
3 Multiple Choice (Multiple Answers) A question with 6-8 options is given out of which 3-4 correct options have to be chosen. 1
4 Choose the correct title/author's opinion A stand-alone Multiple choice questions with four options, where either the author's opinion or the title of the passage is asked. 1
5 Complete the table/ flowchart A flow chart or table with partly complete information is given and the candidate has to fill in the rest of the information. The answer should be of one to three words and/or a number. 1 with 5-6 questions
6 Labeling the Diagram A partially labeled diagram is given, the candidate has to fill in the missing names of the other parts in one to three words and/or a number. 1 with 4-5 questions
7 Sentence Completion A sentence fragment is given and the candidate has to complete it by choosing one to three words and/ or a number from the passage. 4-6 sentences
8 Matching the Sentence Endings The sentence endings in column B have to be matched with their first halves in Column A. 4-6 Fragments
9 Summary Completion A summary based on one of the passages is given where the candidate has to provide an answer of one to three words/ and or a number. 1 with 4-7 questions
10 Matching the headings The passage is divided into different parts and a list of headings is given. The headings have to be chosen for the given sections. 5-6
11 Matching the statements A few statements are given, and the candidate has to match each statement with the section of the passage from which they are taken. 5-6
12 Identifying information- True/False/ Not Given A few facts are given about a survey or research, which has to be verified from the passage. 5-6
13 Verifying The Opinions- Yes/No/Not Given A few opinions are given made by the author(s), which have to be verified from the passage. 5-6
14 Classification The passage is mainly based on the discussion and details about two things, a few statements are given and the candidate has to choose to which part the statement belongs to. 5-6
15 Sentence Completion A sentence fragment is given and the candidate has to complete it by choosing the options from the given list.  5-6
16 Summary completion A summary based on one of the passages is given where the candidate has to fill in the blanks by choosing answers from a list provided.  5-6
